When we bred Tessa to Tristar we were hoping to get Tessa's incredible will to milk (from a really sound udder) and Tristar's
incredible correctness in General Appearance (shown by us 5 times, 3X BBIS). It worked! Not only does Timothy himself show the
correctness we are looking for, but his daughters have all consistently milked more than their dams. The most exciting thing we are
finding is the levelness of lactation. The daughters that have completed their lactations in the herd have all milked well into late
lactation. Another bonus in the milking department is that this Tessa line has shown exceptionally high milk components, butterfat and
especially protein. Timothy is a very large buck, not only in stature, but also in depth and width. He has a classic dairy profile showing
lots of angularity throughout. His ribbing is very flat and open. He is well balanced throughout with sound feet and legs. Another trait
we really appreciate is his temperament which is mellow, gentlemanly ( especially with does in heat). He is very easy to handle.
We have freshened a fair number of his daughters and almost all have been very correct does with udders well up above the hocks
with good area of udder attachment. The two does we have kept for our breeding program we feel are exceptional. His daughter,
"Amina" (Aminance) was RGCH at the 2009 California State Fair as a two year old second freshener and Linear Appraised 91. We
just love her. The other daughter is Tansy who is just a nicely balanced doe with a very shapely udder. We expect her to do very well
as she matures. We were able to get a really good collection of Timothy semen this fall, which was great as we were sold out. A
limited amount of that semen is available (5/$150) He is not bred to many does this year as we had used him a lot for the last two
years. He is here for the long haul though for all the strengths we see in his progeny.
